ZODIAC (2) SAGITTARIUS

SAGITTARIUS...The Archer.....23 November to 21 December.

I am doing these out of order as I intend to do family birth signs first and I've never been one for disciplined order anyway so if you are a Sagittarian this if for you.  This is Phil's birth sign.

The element of Sagittarius is Fire and your quality is Mutable. You are the philosopher of the Fire signs, enthusiastic and ever juggling ideas. the 'mutable' Fire sign.  The Fire element means you are an intuitive type, motivated by enthusiasms, mental inspiration and the search for knowledge.

As the mutable Fire sign, you are one of the dual signs who shifts ground regularly, ever on the search for new wisdom, the perfect idea.  The most peace loving and gentle of the Fire signs, you are nonetheless capable of pushing your ideas and opinions to the max.  Thus your reputation for 'foot in mouth' episodes!  Firing your arrows of ideas continuously, you let many fall by the wayside and only action a few.  You are most happy when life feels like an adventure and you have an interesting new plan on the boil.  You are the ninth sign and your key phrase is "I know".

Your planetary ruler is Jupiter, planet of wisdom.

The quest for a breadth of experience and knowledge of the world around you are the way your Fire flames.  You are a hot character but the coolest of the Fire signs, ever ready to make friends and influence people.  You are likely to have an opinion on almost everything and sometimes do better to keep that opinion to yourself.   Ancient Arabic Astrology says Sagittarius is "of hot and dry nature (igneous).  Their angel rules...luminous bodies and in partcular it holds the keys to the creation of plants."

Your symbol is the Centaur, half man, half horse and this signifies your unique combination of strong physicality but mentally driven.  It is when your human nature rules your animal nature that you are most balanced and happy.  The gifts of Jupiter are expansive good nature, enthusias, a hunger for knowledge and tendency to exaggeration.  Since the wisdom plant rules both Sagittarius and Pisces, you are the 'day sign' - the most extroverted version of Jupiter.  In the body Sagittarius rules the thighs.. hips, sciatic nerve. arterial system, pelvis and sacrum.  These relate to balance and movement and you are happiest with plenty of physical activity and mental challenge.

I was amazed as I copied this at how well it described my other half.  He has always searched for knowledge and in fact seldom reads anything other than non-fiction.  He has a fantastic memory, often recalling things he read as a youth.  He was adventurous as he emigrated to Australia with his first wife when he was 30 and that was a big step.  I think when he was on his own again he may have moved on but then he met me.  I guess he couldn't be lucky all the time.  He is also peace loving and gentle.  When I mentioned to him about 'foot in mouth' episodes he said. "No, not these days but I often did when I was younger."  He does know a lot but he is not a know it all for which I am very thankful.

I wonder if anyone else out there comes under the sign of the Archer and, if so, is this a good description of you?

  1. And I suspect that I am not alone in saying that he was very lucky to have met you. Go on, ask him. I double dare you.
My father was a Sagittarian. And no, that doesn't describe much of him. The search for knowledge yes, peace-loving? No way, no how. (Spoof star sign? Most likely murder victim. And THAT was my father. He took infuriating to a whole new level.)

    1. I am so pleased my other half was more rather than less a true Sagittarian.
I dared ask him that question and his answer was "On thinking back on it all. Yes." Phew!!! Got the reply I hoped for. : )

  2. One of my daughters is a Sagittarian but those words above don't describe much of her. She is always searching out new knowledge, mostly on the internet and is an "I know" person, but also quiet and a little reclusive. Like me.

    1. Some of her traits are definitely those of a Sagittarian....about seeking for knowledge etc. She sounds rather nice.
