MORE CANDID CANDY TALES

I've read where other bloggers (and facebookers too) have problems with their cats demanding attention when their owners are using their computers.   Candy has now found a way to get my attention as well.

Hops up on desk with a little trilling sound:

Stands in front of the computer screen willing me to take notice of her:

and when that fails she lays/lies on the keyboard and just stares at me as if to say "Take notice of ME and stop what you're doing.....NOW".

Strangely enough, it always works and I do her bidding.  Well, isn't that what I'm here for?

Candy has now been with us for just over 3 months and it's as if she's been here forever.  Apart from her little habit of 'pooting' unexpectedly, she is all one could look for in a feline friend.   She's affectionate, quite obedient, eats most of what she is served, and just loves to be with us.  Even when she goes outdoors she is back every little while seeking out one of us as if to say "oh, you're still there" and off she goes again.

Phil is still wishing she wouldn't bring garden lizards/legless lizards inside as they are difficult to catch but he forgives her every time as he scoops up the poor little (now tail-less) creature with the dustpan and brush and pops it back out in the garden.

  1. Jazz does limp falls across the keyboard too. Jewel climbs up the back of the chair and looms over my shoulder. Both techniques are very, very effective.
I love that Candy has very obviously found her forever home - in your house and your heart.

    1. Strangely enough Precious rarely got on to the desk in all the years we had her although she would do the sit on newspaper thing.
Candy does get on to the back of the chair but going the other way, from the desk and over to he window.
Yes she definitely has found her 'furever' home with us and we are so grateful that she has.

    1. Oh yes re newspapers etc. If I have a paper on my footstool or perhaps am searching through a grocery pamphlet, Candy will nearly always come and sit on one or the other so they still have that same habit.
We've not forgotten our Precious but Candy is so different in so many ways to Precious so one did not replace the other but rather makes a difference in our lives because of those differences. xx

  3. When you have a cat they expect to be the center of your world and they know how to make it happen lol.

    1. Do you know what Delores? We want them to be the centre of our world as well and we theirs as well. I find it very difficult to live happily without a feline friend.

  4. That trilling sound! Angel does it too and I didn't have a word to describe it, so thank you. angel lies in front of the keyboard, but he is so big now, he kind of spreads over and I push the laptop back, so he settles which makes him spread even more, he's like bread dough that just keeps rising and rising...eventually the laptop is so far back I can't reach it. Depending on my mood I either shut it down and give Angel the attention or shoo him off and get busy again.
Candy is so very pretty and clearly loves you.

    1. I think 'trill' describes that sound perfectly. I picked Candy up a few minutes ago to give her a cuddle and she trilled so loudly but at the same time there was an accompaniment I could have done without. Guess I have to take the bad with the pleasurable.
Fortunately Candy is rather a small cat but even so she can completely cover up this keyboard as it is quite tiny (with no numbers on the right side).
She is pretty but in a different way to Precious who was so fluffy. She certainly seems happy to have made us her own.

  5. She's certainly at home now Mimsie and firmly entrenched into your hearts! (I think you'll like the post I've just done on cats)
    Candy is truly adorable.

  6. HA! Our cats have done a bang-up job of training me, too.
