More flowers to share. How about that first one and I love all the different colours of the lupins. I have a pink camellia but it's not quite as pretty as the one shown here. Just enjoy them and carry some beauty with you into the weekend which I hope will be a good one for you.
Oh my. Magic - that I swear that those first blooms have teeth. Sharp pointy ones at that.
ReplyDeleteTruly magical....that monkey orchid is related to the one shown last week and those teeth certainly do look sharp.
DeleteLOVE the Lupins, I'd forgotten about those. I think I'll add them to my list of plants to buy. I'll rip out one or two of those prickly Lomandras I've now got and put Lupins in.
ReplyDeleteWhat is that pale yellow tree under the Lupins?
I've never grown lupins but it's a thought so garden centre here I come.
DeleteThe plant with yellow flowers is a ponytail palm and I've found two names for them Nolina recurvata and Beaucarnia recurvata. I have 6 ponytails ranging in size from about 40cm to about 150cm. I've always loved them but they are very slow growing. I start mine in pots and now have 3 in the garden and 3 still in various size pots. I used to be able to buy them almost as tube stock for about $2 each but I'm not sure you can buy them that way now. Even my oldest one has not flowered yet (they take years) but one has split into two trunks and another has branches coming from the trunk. I've always liked them just for their shape and how easy they are to care for.

ReplyDeleteLupins are just so... country cottage nostalgic. I love them as Granny and mum both grew them. The flowering palm is anastonishingly good example All these are gorgeous. Happy Weekend! YAM xx
Yes, lupins are aren't they? Just beautiful and I remember seeing them growing wild when we were in New Zealand. Am determined to try and get some in our garden soon.
DeleteAren't flowers wonderful just to look at and admire their diversity and amazing colours.
Hope your weekend goes well for you too. xx
Love the little monkeys in their furry Russion hats.
ReplyDeleteYou are so observant. Yes they do look like Russian hats don't they. Cheeky little faces there too.
