Rudyard Kipling made the statement "never the twain shall meet" and obviously parallel lines have the same problem:

  5. I remember learning in high school that parallel lines will never meet, something I'd always known, but Mr W was explaining it to one of the boys who didn't quite get it because in long distance perspective the lines do appear to meet.

    1. rSo true about parallel lines appeating to meet in the distance. I think it's linear perspective or something like that. Phil would know as he just knows that sort of thing.
