MONDAY MIRTH No 8

Hopefully this will bring a smile to your face and begin the week happily for you.  Has anyone discovered the reason we call them bears?

Made me smile! Well, most don't now, but I guess it would have been an easy assumption given the close resemblance to the childhood stuffy! YAM xx

  3. I suspect they were called bears because they are cute and cuddly looking. Very cute and cuddly.

    1. Definitely I would agree. I believe it is traumatic for them to be handled too much so maybe they don't like being cuddled.

  4. koalafications, I like that. I think they were originally called bears by the first white arrivals because they resembled teddy bears and the name stuck, because no one realised they weren't actually bears.

    1. I too thought it rather well put.
I am sure you are right as to why people thought they were a type of bear. We've found out differently since then.
