I am so pleased with my new baby rose (Chameleon) as already she is showing me all her beautiful different colours. I had to show her off as I am surprised that she would be flowering so well so soon. This from someone who recently decided (along with MOH) that roses were too much trouble to look after for we two oldies now. I feel that with the floribundas they should be OK and I can actually see 2 or even 3 of these lovely roses in a row on our front patio. I recently saw a very unusual and beautiful hybridT rose called "Julia's Rose" and if anyone is looking for a different rose I'd recommend it. It is a rather unusual colour and apparently is available in both floribunda and climbing types. Just a suggestion but well worth googling if you are looking for more roses for your garden. | | | |

Oh! Is this the same one from Karen's home? Did she give you a cutting? I'm so jealous if it is - she that rose is beautiful. I can't wait to see more photos of it.
ReplyDeleteYes that is the same as the rose that Karen has had for 20 years or so. I bought mine at our local Dawson's Garden Centre for $14.95 a couple of weeks back (or I should say my dear husband bought it for me). It truly is beautiful.
DeleteIt's beautiful! I haven't begun to search for one yet, first I have to decide where I can put one so it won't get damaged by the maintenance man on his ride-on lawnmower. That man is careless!
ReplyDeleteI am loving it and will definitely get a couple more. Perhaps a Julia's Rose to keep them company. Gee I best be careful, I'm getting a little carried away on roses again. lol
DeleteThe floribundas grow well in pots so you could move them out of harm's way when your maintenance man comes to work.
I had roses in pots but the path is narrow and he shredded the pots while I was at work. I could probably put some out in the concrete washing line area. It needs prettying up for sure.
DeleteWe too had a couple of 'handymen' in last year and with their whipper snipper they sliced right through a couple of large plastic pots. Fortunately they didn't completely ringbark the shrubs.
DeleteThis is so beautiful Mimsie - and you KNOW how happy I am that you're hooked on roses again don't you? I love the colour of Julia's rose, it's almost like a pale coffee, or a very milky tea - divine. Enjoy x
ReplyDeleteYes it is just scrumpious if you can say that about a plant. As long as they grow in pots I think we can manage the roses OK. I noticed that Julia's Rose is listed under brown roses. Yes, it does rather remind me of perhaps a coffee with lots of cream in it. I am enjoying it and have moved the pot on the front patio to where I can see it when I am sitting in my chair in the living room. Definitely have to buy it some companions. xx
