THINKING ALLOWED

I am currently thinking what I think at this time of year, every year.  My daughter and I have a dream....we have both wished to have a white Christmas.  Of course in this city of ours that is most unlikely as the temperature on Christmas Day averages out at 32C (89F) but we still wish the same each year.   She is more than likely to experience a white Christmas in her lifetime as her daughter Beth now lives in New Jersey and in future years K and B could possibly decide to visit there in December.

Anyway, this song says it all for both of us.

Even though Phil has been in Australia for 57 years I feel there are times he would once again like to be able to celebrate the festive season where the weather is cool with a chance of snow.  I envy him a little as he had 30 of those years to remember cold Christmases whereas I have none.

Sadly, white festives are getting rarer up this end too... and we are expecting between 12 and 14'C for the big day. We are currently under the pall of storm Barbara. Lots of wet. Lots of wind. No white.
Wishing you both the very very best!!! YAM xx

    1. Hope you manage to keep safe with that nasty storm heading your way.
We had a cyclone threatening our northwest and Broome was flooded but so far I've not heard of any serious damage.
All the best to you too. xx

    1. Phil says the best place for snow is on Christmas cards and I guess,if anyone should know, he should (spoil sport).
Hope you both have a wonderful day and Jazz will enjoy it too.

  3. I like the idea of a white Christmas, but don't want to experience the cold that comes with it. I'll just have to settle for a 'white hot' Christmas. With air conditioning :)
    Merry Christmas.

    1. I can't believe Adelaide is going to be 40C (104F) on Christmas Day and then only 29C on Boxing Day.
Hope the airconditioning will help keep you and Angel cool. Take care and enjoy the day as much as you are able.
      Will be thinking of you.
      Merry "white hot" Christmas.

  4. It's one of Mum's greatest wishes too Mimsie. She's determined to experience a white Christmas one year but she hates to travel so I don't know how that is going to happen. AND she plays that song over and over at this time of year.

    1. It is strange Charlie what people dream of isn't it?
I once enjoyed snow on a holiday in New Zealand but Phil thought I was funny as I just had to build a little snowman.
Our day will be reasonable with only 32C forecast.
Merry Christmas to all of you.
