FRIDAY FAVOURITES No 13

I wonder how many of you remember the Andrews Sisters singing this one......way back in 1944!!  Probably not but I remember it well.  I was 12 years old at the time and it was towards the end of WW2.  Lots of versions on YouTube and I hope this one comes through OK.

Well, of course don't remember the original... but again, the sisters were a favourite within the family, so grew familiar with them more by osmosis than choice! They were the Spice Gals before spice got hot &*> YAM xx

    1. They were popular because they sang cheerful songs I think. Not sure about them not being hot. Just think of the words "both mother and daughter working for the Yankee dollar". Have never fathomed out exactly what that meant. (*:*) xx

  2. I didn't of course hear the original, but remember hearing it in my yoof. Mind you, I prefer my rum with milk.

    1. I can just imagine you in your yoof!! I think I have tried rum and coke but if I ever drink whiskey (rarely) I have it with milk which Phil frowns at!!

    1. Probably 'cos you're too young. It was very popular when I was a youngster. A great little tune.
