P is for PUFFIN and PARDALOTE (coming soon)

Yes, OK, I know I did the "Q" bird first but as I want to do two "P" birds it will take me a while to seek out all the information I want to find about both.  I was busy yesterday (daughter here for lunch and then a visit to my GP) and am busy tomorrow (daughter here for lunch again preparatory to her taking Phil and myself to the funeral of a former much loved workmate).

Will be watching an Aussie Rules football match tonight but the weekend should be fairly free so more birds then I hope.

On Monday afternoon I am to have an injection (under CT guidance) in my right SIJ (sacroiliac joint) and I'm sincerely hoping my GP has hit on the reason I've been having this extra bad pain in my back of late and, if he has, that the injection may work (fingers crossed).  Here's a picture just so you know what I'm talking about (wasn't I lucky to find just the picture I wanted on Wikipedia?):

  1. Good luck with the injection. I do hope it relieves the pain. Pain has nothing to recommend it does it?

    1. I too am keeping fingers crossed that it will work. I have been living with a bad back for some years and I just didn't need this extra problem. At least I'm still here to have a grizzle about it but would prefer to have nothing to complain about. lol

    1. Roger was in his 80s and had had a happy life although it's always difficult to say goodbye to special people. It was nice though as I met other workmates I'd not seen for years and Roger would have been happy that we had met up again. He was like that...a really decent bloke.
The football result was not good but never mind, them's the breaks.
Back problems have haunted me for many, many years and I just don't need this one thrown in just for the fun of it. : )

  3. I hope it all goes well for you. Injections anywhere are awful, but necessary.

    1. Thanks River and I hope so too. I don't mind injections (I am fortunate in that) and I've had my fair share of them over the years. It's the lying down on those hard 'beds' that is the worst part of it either on my back which is not good or on my stomach which I find even worse. Just hope it works is all.

  5. Thanks so much for your kind thoughts. Had injection yesterday and am waiting patiently in the hope the result will be good. Takes a few days (was told not to do much for a couple of days) for the effect to show. Not holding out a lot of hope but if I can just be rid of this one painful spot the rest is more or less bearable.
