A CHANGE OF TEMPO.....A POEM

Although I am female I find this extremely funny so with apologies to all my female blogger friends I just had to share.  I noticed Baby Mac had a post about men hanging out the washing so perhaps this could be the other side of the coin?

I have a little Satnav; it sits there in my car
A Satnav is a driver's friend; it tells you where you are.
I have a little Satnav; I've had it all my life,
It's better than the normal ones; my Satnav is my wife.
It gives me full instructions, especially how to drive;
"It's thirty miles an hour", it says "You're doing thirty five".
It tells me when to stop and start, and when to use the brake;
And tells me that it's never ever safe to overtake.
It tells me when a light is red, and when it goes to green;
It seems to know instinctively just when to intervene.
It lists the vehicles just in front and all those to the rear,
And taking this into account, it specifies my gear.
I'm sure no other driver has so helpful a device
For when we leave and lock the car it still gives its advice.
It fills me up with counselling; each journey's pretty fraught
So why don't I exchange it and get a quieter sort?
Ah well you see, it cleans the house, makes sure I'm properly fed
It washes all my shirts and things and keeps me warm in bed.
Despite all these advantages and my tendency to scoff,
I only wish that now and then I could turn the bugger off!!

  2. Hmmm. Smiling here, but feel I should point out the need to be thankful for all the additional functions that the current model features. Batteries/electricity not required.

    1. Yes we ladies run without batteries/electricity so don't need recharging at all. Actually I am Phil's SATNAV and he doesn't mind. I drove from age 17 to about 75 without a ticket for anything so feel I was a reasonably good driver. There are times when we are waiting to turn into a busy street when I watch one way and Phil the other and it works. There's also been a couple of times when I've spotted a problem that he's missed so we have decided two pairs of eyes can be better than one. I don't though tell him how to drive.

  3. That's hilarious. I guess the satisfaction she gets from being so annoying is her payback for all the other work she does. Works for me lol.

  4. Yes it worked for me too. Perhaps he needs her to be there beside him without him realising it?

    1. You have to laugh, that's if you have a sense of humour.

  7. Delightful. Yes, I am a man but I need all the help I can get to puzzle out the aggression behind and treachery ahead. Come to think of it, my wife's intuition has served us well off the highway as well.

  8. I am so glad to hear that Geo. I always think that with every couple one has to be there to help the other whether it is agression or teachery or just keeping each other on the straight and narrow. : )
    Thanks for popping by and leaving your comment.
