Not a lot of thinking going on but just a quick post to wish you all A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR. As the old year leaves us I hope you have a new year full of love, happiness and peace.
Happy New Year to you and Phil, Mimsie and Candy too. I hope 2017 is very kind to you all. I've had a crazy morning cleaning everything, getting dust out from under the fridge and washing machine, under the bed too and off the top of the fridge; washing floor mats etc, because of my mum's old tradition where you shouldn't carry dirt from the old year into the new one. I didn't go so mad as to actually wash the floors, although I did vacuum.
I hope 2017 is kind to all of us and we wait with baited breath to see what will happen after Jan 20th. I am glad my mother didn't have that belief. Our house is tidy and reasonably clean after Jenny being here on Thursday. At least you didn't go the whole hog and wash the floors too. Enough's enough as far as I am concerned. :)
The original belief was more about letting go of past hurts and forgiving those who hurt or otherwise wronged you. Mending fences and burying hatchets, but cleaning the house worked just as well. We'd "sweep out the bad" to make room for the good.
Happy New Year, Mimsie!
