I guess most of us try to hide the thorny side of our nature but at times it must become visible to others and we then hope they will still find us lovable.
Accepting the unlovable side isn't always easy. It can be done, but it's slow going and hard work. It's easier if you love the person with all your heart and soul. And I agree with EC, we all have our ugly thorny bits.
We all have thorns of one kind or another. I had a lifelong friend who fell out with so many people over the years. I could have fallen out with her too but I knew underneath she was a lovable and generous person. I miss her still.
