HAPPY NEW YEAR

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all my blogging friends a wonderfully happy New Year.  If 2015 has not treated you well then I hope 2016 will be better for you.  If 2015 has been good to you then I trust that 2016 will perhaps be your best year ever.  To you and your loved ones:

We, as has been our custom over the past number of years, stayed home and managed to stay awake last night to see in the new year.  We gave each other a new year kiss, cuddled the cat and then decided it was high time to go to bed.   Another year had begun.

Always remember these wise words...today is the tomorrow we thought of yesterday!!

  1. I had no intention of staying up, I was super-tired, so went to bed, but couldn't fall asleep. tossing, turning, getting up and wandering around,so I gazed outside at midnight, didn't hear a single sound. Finally fell asleep about 4.15am, got woken at 4.30 by Angel wanting breakfast, stumbled back to bed and slept until 7am.
    Happy New Year.

    1. We did stay up and watched a silly film on TV which gave us a few laughs which I thought a good way to end the old year. Finally in bed at 1am but I tossed and turned a bit too. Slept in this morning till VERY late.
Hope the new year treats you well.

  2. The New Year came in without any assistance from me, though I woke at two and found it hard to go to sleep again.
Happy New Year Mimsie. I hope it is marvellous.

    1. Not sure why we in three different states had that sort of night but I guess it happens as you get older. Not that either you or River are THAT old.
Thank you and I hope 2016 is good to you both.

  3. A very Happy New Year to you Mimsie, I am a bit of a wus, I didn't see the new year in, and slept like a log. A beautiful day up here to start the year off

    1. Thank you so much. We did stay up as we usually do. No reason except perhaps thankful we've both lasted another year.
A little too warm in Perth for me right now.
Hope you find happiness in the new year.

  4. As Robbie Burns asked, "Should old acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind?" I say no. We should always remember our friends and acquaintances. Therefore, in gratitude to you and all the joy you bring to others I wish you everything you wish yourself.

    1. Thank you so much Tez, you are very kind.
I have many friends and family who I remember oh, so well even though they left us years ago.
Hope you find all you seek in 2016.

As a repatriated Scot, I felt obliged to observe Hogmanay... and actually managed it surprisingly well! Put on BBC iPlayer and watched a new series called Dickensian, which saw me most of the way there; then switched on BBC Alba for the ceilidh which gave us 'the bells', and an hour of top Scottish music. Local fireworks here and across the Clyde Estuary were very pretty and then slept like a log till 8am!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR MIMSIE AND PHIL AND CANDY!!! YAM xx

    1. Thank you for your wishes Yam, much appreciated.
I have Scottish ancestors so of course I have to observe the big night for their sake.
You seem to be one of the few that slept so well. Perhaps just being rather too warm in Oz last night. Keep well and safe in 2016.

  6. We were in bed by ten without our usual cup of hot chocolate on New Years Eve...seems like it got here without our assistance. Happy New Year..hope it's full of good things for you.

  7. As Phil often says 'it's only another day' but most people look on new year's eve as something special. We do stay up but this year not even a drink to celebrate.
I am hoping this year will treat everyone really well.
