SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT

Trying to get back into the swing of things but too tired to look about for a suitable poem for today so thought I'd share with you a poem I learned when I was doing correspondence lessons down on the farm when I was 4 or 5.

THE SUNFLOWER

Mr Sunflower, big and yellow
Said "I'm such a lucky fellow.
To be small must be so queer
I get a splendid view up here."

There is another one about the moon from the same time which I may share with you one day if you are lucky. (*:*)

The poems we learnt early stay with us don't they?

  5. I've never heard that one. But now I'm reminded I have some sunflower seeds to plant, if only I can decide where.

    1. I think it was one from the Education Dept that went with correspondence lessons for little ones.
You will need plenty of sunshine for the sunflowers and plenty of room if they are the big ones. Good luck with them.
