Some parts of the metopolitan area received close to 60mm and in our own back garden gauge we did actually record 60mm and possibly another 10 or so mm this morning. No more garden watering for some time (we hope).
It may seems strange to people in those parts of the world where it rains too often and too much but when you go for weeks, and sometimes months, without seeing rain, it is just so very welcome when the rain eventually arrives. It is so welcome you have to blog about it and everyone thinks you are crazy for doing so.
It has been quite windy but I've not heard of any damage being caused by the wind, at least in the metropolitan area and hopefully that will remain the case as we have more fronts coming through today and tomorrow. It is also great (for me at least) to have some cooler weather with today only being officially 20.8C (70F) although last night was quite warm at 16.5C (61F).
I notice our cousins in South Australia are having unseasonably warm weather at present with I think Adelaide recording its hottest May day for some years so I am hoping some of this weather system will reach them in the next day or two. Sending some much needed cloud your way:
Hope it arrives OK.
