Several years ago I asked Phil to go to Dawsons Garden Centre and buy me 3 chameleon miniature rose bushes. I got a lot of pleasure from them but I have to admit I did neglect them rather badly over the last couple of years.
Last month I set about them with secateurs. Two of the plants looked healthy but the third not so muc and finally it went to rose heaven. The other two immediately began to show a lot of life and the larger of the two flowered a week or so back and it is beautiful.
The buds are yellow and the flowers change colour as they age (hence the name); here it is about a week ago:
and then today:
I think I may be asking Phil to pop up to Dawsons and buy me a couple more. What do you think?
Oh definitely ask Phil to pick up some more. They are simply glorious.
ReplyDeleteI just told him and he said he would next time he is near Dawsons and since it is only a few streets away I am hoping they have some in stock and I can add a couple more to these two I have.
DeleteMy frangipani are now showing lots more leave thanks to our warmer weather but no sign yet of any buds. Parience is a virtue when it comes to frangies.
I love the way they change colour, I think I would buy some more, that's my opinion. lol

Yes, the decision has been made. I can no longer do any real gardening but can care for plants in pots so the roses and frangipani are the way to go. x

ReplyDeleteI think definitely! YAM xx
I love the encouragement I am getting here so more chameleons it is for sure. xx
DeleteI think buying a couple more is a great idea. They're so pretty. There are some in the gardens around here and I thought of starting a cutting in a pot, but my patch is "Ant Paradise" and any pot I have is home to an ant nest almost immediately. Yours are looking very lovely.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice when friends support me so Phil is off to Dawsons in the coming week and i just hope they have some in stock....they are only $14.95 so a couple more for sure.
DeleteHave you asked anyone about treating the ants? A garden centre should be able to help. They can be a real nuisance and do a lot of damage to plants.
What I call the "front yard" Extends from the footpath to my flat which is one of four, two up, two down, most of the area from the low brick fence to my garden patch is ants and their nests, even inside the small fence and the lawn is riddled too. If this was a small yard around a house I owned, I'd do something, but the problem here is too extensive and certainly Housing SA isn't going to fork out any $$ to fix it.
DeleteIs there any chance the Council could perhaps do something about it. They may have means of getting rid of the ants. Just a thought.
DeleteHi, Mimsie ... thanks for dropping by my place
