FRIDAY'S FLOWERS

I received an email this week with pictures of some very beautiful, spectacular and unusual flowers so instead of Friday frolics/funnies I decided to share some of those flowers with you and will do so in coming weeks as well.    I am hoping some of you will recognise what these are.  Meantime, just enjoy their beauty.  I recognise the first, second and I think the last one.

Don't you just really love the beauty that flowers bring into our lives?  I know I do.

  3. They're so beautiful. I think the third one is a Monkshood? I don't recognise any of the others, unless the first one is a passionflower. The centre does resemble the flowers we had on our passionfruit vine although the petals are different. Perhaps a banana passionfruit flower.

    1. I had to try and find out more about #3 and it is called a Monkey Orchid (Dracula simia). It is very rare and only found in high elevations of Ecuador and Peru.
I am positive the first flower is indeed a type of passionfruit as they come in many different colours but was wrong about the last one. I thought it a gloxinia but I was wrong.

    3. I had to google them too and apparently they come in different shades of blue and are very pretty.

  4. Oh my goodness...what an exotic selection. The first one looks like feathers and the third one like a monkey. Second from last looks like paper cutouts.

That monkey orchid is certainly unusual and the others, very special too.
