FACEBOOK FUNNY

I don't know how many of you are on Facebook but I thought this cartoon rather said it all:

I do use Facebook, not as a social media so much but I love to play Scrabble with my daughter and others Facebook friends.  It is also one way of keeping up with those we know and how they are faring.

I always laugh at some of the things people put on Facebook about their daily lives but if they enjoy it then that is all that matters.

  1. I am a dinosaur (entirely appropriate given this post) and don't play Facebook. I spend enough time on line already.

    1. I understand completely. Phil doesn't like board games and I love to play Scrabble to keep my mind active (as well as read of course) and Facebook provides the game for me to play each day. I don't tweet etc. as I feel social media is completely out of control and I've never been one to really enjoy gossip.
I am a dinosaur when it comes to most modern technology.

    1. Apart from paying Scrabble Rae I find it useful to keep up to date with people you know who you may otherwise lose touch with. There are some very good funnies on FB that I enjoy too. xx

  3. I love that one! I have it in my files as a potential Whimsical Wednesday, but I won't use it now. I have plenty more.
I don't do facebook, nor twitter either. I'd rather read blogs and books.

    1. Sorry River, I didn't mean to use one of your funnies. I am sure you could still use it in weeks to come as people do forget.
As I don't get out very much at all I do need something to keep me in touch with the outside world so FB does it for me and I've met some delightful people on there with whom I've become quite close friends. As far as twitter etc go.....no thanks.
The one thing I heard recently that really made me wonder about the modern generation was that the world 'selfies' was apparently the word of the year in 2013. Apparently people take pics of themselves in quite extraordinary positions etc and then put them out there on social media. Heaven alone knows but they must be so much in love with themselves.

    2. No apology necessary Mimsie, I found the image on google just as you did and you used it first. No problem, I'm happy that you found it as funny as I did.
Twitter is a waste of time mostly and selfies have got out of hand I fear. Too many people, too many photos.

    3. Actually this cartoon appeared on Facebook itself. I've never even tried to access twitter and certainly don't think I need to or want to.

Blogs are enough for me, I have to say, but can appreciate that there are more ways to 'outreach'. Loved the funny though!!! YAM xx

    1. I am more into blogs than ever before as there are so many very interesting people around. I guess 'man' has always needed to tell someone how good he is. xx

  5. OH that was amusing, I check facebook and twitter every day but don't put much on as the blog keeps me busy.

  6. Thanks Merle...I thought it worth passing on. I find blogging more fun than FB (apart from my games of Scrabble) and I don't tweet at all. : )
