Yes, I guess there is a similarity between Val and myself, I'd just never looked for it before.
After reading your comments I feel something perhaps wasn''t quite right the top of our cake after a year and yet it wouldn't have been kept in a freezer as nobody had one back then. You may not have seen it as I'm not sure if you follow 'menopausal mumma' (my daughters blog) but at the time of Kate's marriage to William, Karen showed photos of both dresses saying how similar the style was despite the difference of 60 years.
The photos are good considering how long ago they were taken. B&W's do seem to withstand the passage of time very well.Mimsiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00249766510078357225noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2704657209559170713.post-90213167655666694382014-04-09T17:58:33.204+08:002014-04-09T17:58:33.204+08:00I too think B&W's often show more than mod...I too think B&W's often show more than modern colour pics. I am fortunately in that I don't let 'difficult times' stay with me for long. I just let the water flow under the bridge and remember the good times. xxMimsiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00249766510078357225noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2704657209559170713.post-12678876197182662962014-04-09T17:57:16.778+08:002014-04-09T17:57:16.778+08:00You would have been very welcome Geo. and thank yo...You would have been very welcome Geo. and thank you for your kind comments.Mimsiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00249766510078357225noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2704657209559170713.post-19402289118869963822014-04-09T17:56:52.490+08:002014-04-09T17:56:52.490+08:00Thanks you Delores. Thanks you Delores.Mimsiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00249766510078357225noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2704657209559170713.post-89398360625663363292014-04-09T17:56:40.153+08:002014-04-09T17:56:40.153+08:00Thanks EC....I think everyone looked top class on ...Thanks EC....I think everyone looked top class on the day.Mimsiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00249766510078357225noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2704657209559170713.post-29221586949913352152014-04-09T09:20:57.167+08:002014-04-09T09:20:57.167+08:00You all look so beautiful! Mum kept the top of my cake, to be cut on the first anniversary. Unfortunately she wrapped it in plastic, so it sweated a bit before she put it in her freezer. When we thawed it, the icing was spoiled with spots of mildew and the cake itself tasted funny. Nobody ate it after I tasted and said it was bad. We made a chocolate anniversary cake instead. It is interesting that we often cannot fully recall the events which were happy or just 'every day'... if only we could forget the difficult times as easily.
